Accordingly, the English first division club, which was recently taken over by a Saudi consortium, is ready to transfer 55 million euros for Ter Stegen. Barcelona could certainly use the money because of the well-known immense mountain of debt. In addition, one should no longer be completely satisfied with Ter Stegen’s performance at Camp Nou, writes El Nacional.
Nevertheless, the 29-year-old’s move to Newcastle would be unlikely. On the one hand, Ter Stegen is still under contract with Barca until 2025 and feels very comfortable with the Spanish noble club, on the other hand, according to El Nacional, the Mönchengladbach native wants to return to Germany after his time in Barcelona.
Ter Stegen moved from Gladbach to Barcelona in 2014 for twelve million euros. To date, he has played a total of 291 competitive games for Blaugrana.
