Jamie Vardy has rejected Arsenal transfer to stay at Leicester

Jamie Vardy will stay at Leicester City next season

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jamie Vardy will stay at Leicester City next season after turning down Arsenal.

The Gunners activated the £20million release clause of Jamie Vardy last month and it looked like the 29-year-old would complete a quick-fire move to the Emirates before Euro 2016.

However, the Foxes returned with a counter contract offer and told the striker to wait before deciding on his future.

Wenger moved quickly to sign the England international after securing Granit Xhaka on a £30million deal but he’s confirmed in an interview that the former Fleetwood Town striker will stay with Claudio Ranieri’s side.
