Newcastle United have agreed a £12m fee with Tottenham Hotspur for winger Andros Townsend, according to multiple reports.
The former England winger has made just three Premier League substitute appearances this season, and hasn’t featured for the first team since October after he had a spat with a member of Spurs’ training staff.
The move is subject to a medical, but Townsend has expressed an interest in moving to the north east in effort to force his way in to Roy Hodgson’s plans for Euro 2016.
Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy had been holding out for £14m, but it is believed Mauricio Pochettino stepped in yesterday, saying the 24-year-old winger was no longer in his plans.
