Al-Ahli reportedly wants to reunite Sadio Mané with Roberto Firmino

The rumors about a transfer from Sadio Mané to Saudi Arabia are gaining momentum. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano Al-Ahli is currently campaigning intensively for the FC Bayern attacker.

According to Romano, the club have been trying to convince Mané for a few days that the Jeddah club’s goal is to reunite the Senegal international with long-time Liverpool colleague Roberto Firmino. Both stormed together successfully for the Reds from 2016 to 2022, Firmino joined Al-Ahli on Tuesday on a free transfer.

Other clubs, most recently Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr club, are also interested in Mané. They are now probably waiting for a signal from the Bayern star as to whether a change is possible this summer.

The 31-year-old moved from Liverpool to Munich in the summer of 2022 for a fee of 32 million euros. There he disappointed the high expectations with only 7 goals and 5 assists in 25 Bundesliga games. Mané’s contract runs until 2025.

The winger had emphasized in the past few days that he wanted to stay in Munich. His advisor Bacary Cissé made a similar statement. This meant at 2sTV: “What is certain is that he will stay with Bayern. He has signed for three years. He has one year behind him and has two more. As of now, he stays with Bayern.”
