Injury shock for FC Bayern: Alphonso Davies had to be replaced after just a few minutes in the Bundesliga game at FSV Mainz 05.
The Canadian grabbed his left thigh after a sprint in the seventh minute. Davies immediately signaled that he could not continue. A diagnosis is still pending.
The defender, who was supposed to play a little further up the left wing in Mainz, was replaced by Noussair Mazraoui. The Moroccan had complained about his reserve role during the week.
João Cancelo then moved to the left and Mazraoui joined the back three on the right.
Even before the game, Thomas Tuchel had to cope with another failure. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was out against his former club with knee problems. In addition, Serge Gnabry was on the bench with a viral disease.
