Another mass brawl between supporters of 1860 Munich and FC Bayern Munich

For the second time in a few days, there has been a mass brawl between supporters of FC Bayern and TSV 1860 in Munich. One man was injured and charges were filed against several suspected perpetrators.

After a game between FC Bayern’s second team and Pipinsried in the Bayern Regionalliga (3-1) at the Grünwalder Stadion, supporters of Munich’s local rivals clashed on Wednesday evening. According to the police, 40 to 50 people with sympathies for FC Bayern were attacked by around 20 to 30 Löwen fans at Wettersteinplatz in the Giesing district.

It could have been revenge for a similar attack by Bayern fans against Löwen fans last week.

The argument was like that Southgerman newspaper reports only short-lived, but a 20-year-old Allgäu Bayern fan was slightly injured by a punch. Subsequently, numerous people fled to the nearby subway station, which led to a longer stop of the train service.

The attackers fled before police arrived, with six men, who police say were 1860 fans, being charged on suspicion of disturbing the peace.

Police station 23 is now looking for witnesses and is asking for photos and videos of the incident.
