Arminia brings Fernandes from Mainz and Panama’s national defender Andrade

Maria KeaneShortly before the end of the transfer window, Arminia Bielefeld strengthened with the Swiss European Championship participant Edimilson Fernandes and the Panamanian national defender Andres Andrade.
The central midfielder Fernandes (25) comes from league rivals FSV Mainz 05, the 22-year-old Andrade has played for the Austrian Bundesliga club Linzer ASK so far. Both were loaned for one season, Arminia secured a purchase option each.
“Edimilson is a very good footballer with good physical prerequisites, who absolutely strengthens us in terms of his abilities. Now it is important that we use his existing potential together,” said Bielefeld coach Frank Kramer.
Arminias Sport Director Samir Arabi said with regard to Andrade: “We are delighted that we were able to close the vacant position that arose from Mike van der Hoorn’s departure in central defense with Andres Andrade. We are convinced that Andres, who has already proven his qualities in the Austrian Bundesliga, will help us. “
