Maria KeaneThe renowned and very successful assistant coach Peter Hermann Borussia Dortmund is no longer available for “health reasons”. The 70-year-old ended his career as a longtime assistant.
Apart from BVB, Hermann had also worked for Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV. He was also in the service of the DFB as a youth coach.
“Peter asked us for his release for health reasons. It goes without saying that we have granted his request,” said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl. The black and yellow were “extremely happy” last summer, “that Peter – although his personal life plans did not provide for this at the time – had decided to spend another year in professional football and for BVB. In him we are not just losing an experienced player , technically excellent trainer, but also a great person,” says Kehl.
In his career, Hermann played more than 1000 games. “Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to work longer for Borussia Dortmund, because of course health always comes first. From now on, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for BVB from afar in all three competitions,” emphasized the football coach. BVB will decide on his successor in the coming weeks.
