The club from Birmingham confirmed the transfer of the fast-moving attacker on Saturday – subject to the medical check that was still to be carried out. According to media reports, Bayer will receive up to 35 million euros as a transfer fee.
Bailey came to Bayer from KRC Genk in 2017 and made 119 Bundesliga appearances (28 goals) for the Werkself. At that time, the Rhinelander had paid 13.5 million euros transfer fee for Bailey.
It can be assumed that Bayer will sign another successor for Bailey on the offensive.
At Villa, Bailey could succeed Jack Grealish. The England international, who played a major role in the Birmingham club’s surprising sixth place in the preseason, is on the wish list of champions Manchester City and their coach Pep Guardiola.
According to media reports on the island, there is a 120 million euro transfer fee for the 25-year-old Grealish.
