Nico Schlotterbeck apparently sustained a more serious injury than previously thought in Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The BVB central defender threatens loudly Picture a longer break.
According to this, the 23-year-old’s injury at the beginning of April, a torn fiber with tendon involvement in the thigh, broke out again during his comeback against Eintracht.
Schlotterbeck had to be replaced after just 25 minutes. Apparently, the reason was not the free kick from teammate Donyell Malen, which hit the German international, but a pull in the thigh.
However, the exact diagnosis is still pending. An MRI scan should provide clarity. Supposedly even an early end of the season from Schlotterbeck is conceivable.
In the current season, the native Swabian has played 38 competitive games for BVB. He scored four goals and prepared four more goals.
