Bastian Schweinsteiger appears to be a candidate to succeed Hasan Salihamidzic

Bastian Schweinsteiger is apparently one of the candidates for the post of sports director at Bayern Munich. That reports the Munich evening newspaper.

Although the current sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is not necessarily up for discussion, this is primarily due to the fact that there are no convincing alternatives to the Bosnian on the market from Bayern’s point of view.

The only reason people on the Isar would start thinking was if Schweinsteiger expressed their interest, the report continued. If the former midfielder expresses the wish to return to the German record champions, one would “definitely think about it”.

“I am convinced that for Bastian Schweinsteiger the doors at FC Bayern will open wide,” said Uli Hoeneß in March at an event of the Evening News. The 38-year-old has “made an unbelievable development in personality” and is now a “well-established man and man of the world”.

Schweinsteiger was under contract as an active player with Munich between 1998 and 2015. After retiring in 2020, he became an expert on the ARD.
