Bayern legend Bastian Schweinsteiger is of the opinion that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting cannot be the regular cast for the Sturmzentrale at FCB.
“Bayern are looking for a real striker like Robert Lewandowski. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting isn’t good enough for Bayern Munich, he’s more of the B solution,” emphasized Schweinsteiger, who played a total of 500 competitive games for FCB from 2002 to 2015 talkSPORT.
After Lewandowski left FC Barcelona in the summer of 2022, Choupo-Moting was Bayern’s number one striker for much of the past season. The 34-year-old’s contract in Munich runs until 2024.
Meanwhile, Schweinsteiger stressed that he would welcome an upcoming signing from Tottenham star Harry Kane.
“I think he would suit us well,” said the 2014 world champion. Kane “must ask himself if he wants to win a title in his life and career as a football player. I know he’s a person who likes to be around his family and friends, and Munich is the best place for that.”
