The Werkself are preparing for a possible conversion of the right-back and grab a talented Brazilian.
Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen is apparently about to sign Brazilian top talent Arthur. This was reported on Friday evening, among other things, by the specialist magazine table football. Accordingly, the 20-year-old right-back should sign a contract with the Rhinelanders at the weekend until 2028.
The defender made his international debut in last Thursday’s 2-1 defeat in Morocco and is currently at Brazilian side América FC. The transfer fee should be around six million euros.
Arthur would be the first new signing from Leverkusen – and a transfer in the style of Bayer, which is well connected in the South American market. The Werkself already have 23 Brazilians under contract.
Coach Xabi Alonso’s team probably needs to take action at right-back for the new season. It is not unlikely that Jeremie Frimpong and Timothy Fosu-Mensah will leave the club at the end of the season.
