Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer makes it clear: Thomas Tuchel remains FCB coach

Thomas Tuchel will continue to coach Bayern Munich in the coming season. This was confirmed by Herbert Hainer, president of the record champions, at a press conference on Sunday.

“We’re absolutely convinced of Thomas Tuchel. He’s one of the best coaches in Europe, and he’s proven that in many different positions,” stressed Hainer. There are “no thoughts at all” in the direction of a separation or a resignation from Tuchel. “I don’t see why Thomas Tuchel (in the summer) shouldn’t be our coach.”

Hainer reported that he informed the coach on Friday about the changes on the board with the dismissal of boss Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. “He was very understanding, we had a very, very good conversation.”

After winning the championship 2-1 at 1. FC Köln, Tuchel said it was “clear that I’ll be there first”. This statement was partly interpreted in such a way that the 49-year-old might be thinking of an early departure after his turbulent tenure. His contract runs until 2025.
