Martin Hinteregger from Eintracht Frankfurt became violent in the 1-2 defeat against SC Freiburg. The Austrian is said to be threatened with a subsequent ban.
The central defender got in the face of Freiburg’s Philipp Lienhart in a duel in Frankfurt’s penalty area in the 73rd minute. The TV pictures show that. However, the scene had no direct consequences.
Referee Felix Brych only took notice of the situation when Lienhart fell to the ground with a pained face. The video assistants from Cologne also did not intervene.
According to information from picture-Zeitung, the DFB control committee wants to take a closer look at the scene on Monday. The suspicion of assault remains. Hinteregger could still be blocked.
