According to his own statements, national player Benjamin Henrichs has filed several reports after racist hostilities against him on social networks. The professional from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig reported this in an interview with YouTuber Bilal Kamarieh.
“Not against everyone. There is a certain level where you say it just comes with football. But when it’s too much…” said Henrichs (26).
The Leipzig full-back was racially insulted on the Internet after winning the quarter-finals of the cup against Borussia Dortmund in early April and then made some messages public.
Henrichs was born in Germany, his father is from Germany, his mother from Ghana.
“It was the first time I said it hit me hard. Less the news, but the voice messages, when you realize there are people behind them and not just fake profiles,” says Henrichs.
