Maria KeaneBayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard says he suffered from depression last December.
“I don’t like the word depression, but it was. I hid it from everyone, but today I’m much better. I came out of it a better person. It changed me,” Pavard said in an interview with Le Parisien.
Above all, the situation during the corona pandemic made things difficult for Pavard. “Something was wrong in my head. In the beginning you say it’s nothing, it’ll pass, but when you see it last and then you go to training and you don’t have a smile on your face, you have to react,” he said .
Pavard describes his situation as follows: “I am a human being like everyone else and even though I have a nice house with a gym, I needed human contact. I woke up in the morning and had no appetite. I tried to take care of myself to take care of, to cook, to watch TV series.”
Back in December, Pavard had a conversation with L’Equipe revealed he went through a “difficult” phase in his life, adding: “Few people knew what I went through.”
Most recently, the 26-year-old also had Telefoot talked about personal problems in the past. “I wasn’t happy, couldn’t play football well because things weren’t going well in my life,” said Pavard, and also spoke about thoughts of changing last summer: “I questioned a lot of things in the summer. I had calls from different clubs. “
He therefore “spoke to Julian Nagelsmann, with whom I have a good relationship. He made it clear to me that I would play a big role in his plans.”
