Borussia Dortmund apparently keen on a young Frenchman

Three top-class Bundesliga clubs are said to be interested in striker Elye Wahi from French first division club HSC Montpellier. Loud Foot Mercato BVB, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have their eyes on the 20-year-old shooting star.

At the three clubs mentioned, something could happen in attack. Antony Modeste has no future at Dortmund and a new striker who can act as a backup for Sébastien Haller alongside Youssoufa Moukoko is being sought. A successor for the coveted Randa Kolo Muani could be brought in at SGE. And RB need an attacker to replace designated Chelsea signing Christopher Nkunku.

Wahi is not only popular with German clubs. His strong performances are also attracting interest in the Premier League, according to the report. Arsenal and Newcastle United are said to be targeting the versatile centre-forward.

Wahi’s contract in Montpellier runs until 2025. The twelfth in Ligue 1 is hoping for a transfer fee of 40 million euros with a possible transfer this summer.

In his youth, Wahi played for SM Caen and FC Montfermeil, among others. In 2018 he joined Montpellier’s youth team and has been part of the professional squad since early 2021.

Wahi made 30 league appearances for Montpellier this season. He scored 17 goals and provided 5 assists. He scored one goal in three appearances for France’s U21s.
