BVB in the Champions League without fans at Besiktas

Borussia Dortmund has to do without its own fans on the 1st matchday of the Champions League season 2021/22. No foreign spectators are admitted to the away game at Besiktas on Wednesday (from 6.45 p.m. live on DAZN and in LIVETICKER).

The Bundesliga team confirmed that on Monday on Twitter. There is no contingent for both the U19’s game in the Youth League and that of the professionals in the evening. This was discussed after consulting the Foreign Office and the host.

According to current Turkish regulations, 20,954 spectators are allowed in Istanbul’s Vodafone Park for European Cup matches.

BVB Head of Marketing Cramer: Club colors are a “huge advantage”

Carsten Cramer, Head of Marketing at Borussia Dortmund, sees a “huge advantage” in the club colors of BVB.

“Nobody has that, at least at football level. That’s why we make sure that we always appear in yellow as far as possible, because that ensures a high level of recognition,” said the 52-year-old in the 2kicker meets DAZN “podcast. Black and yellow worry for maximum contrast.

At BVB, however, he does not want to speak of a brand “but of a football club”. “I am certainly not the most popular employee at Borussia Dortmund with our fans, because my job is to use it commercially, to increase economic performance. It is a very fine ride to do marketing for a football club,” explained he.

Cramer sees another advantage in the fans’ identification with the club. “I see it as a blessing that we have fans. Because which brand has fans? Most of them have customers. How many companies distribute giveaways and they are not used? And we sell 500,000 jerseys a year and people wear them – and in in their free time – and are ambassadors for Borussia Dortmund. There is no greater luxury, “he said.
