Borussia Mönchengladbach - Hofmann is tempted to move abroad: "Interesting task"

National soccer player Jonas Hofmann can apparently imagine moving abroad in the course of his career. “The world is so diverse and beautiful that there are many places I would like to see. In terms of sport, it is certainly an interesting task for everyone to play abroad,” said the 29-year-old from Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sky. His contract with the Bundesliga club expires in summer 2023.

In another country you have to “learn the new language, find yourself in a new way,” he explained: “One can only speculate whether it will be sporty.” At Borussia, “the weeks are now coming when the club sits down with the players and starts planning the squad for the coming season. You will see in the next few weeks in which direction things are going,” said Hofmann.

The new sports director Roland Virkus, Max Eberl’s successor, “does everything to ensure that the club develops further. You can tell that Roland is making an effort, that he wants to make his own name in the club,” emphasized Hofmann: “Of course Max has been a phenomenal person and manager who we all really appreciated. But we have a new sporting director who will also do a very good job.”
