Coach Adi Hütter made concessions to Borussia Mönchengladbach in talks about canceling his contract, which runs until 2024. “I’m not saying anything about the content of the contract, but it’s true that Adi Hütter came up to us in the talks,” said Gladbach’s sporting director Roland Virkus sports1: “It shows the person and the personality of Adi Hütter. Great respect for that.”
Hütter was signed a year ago by Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of 7.5 million euros. The Austrian football coach had reported “intense, good, respectful conversations”. To mark his farewell, there was a 5-1 win against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Hütter’s successor is open, but Borussia are already considering it. Gladbach’s ex-coach Lucien Favre is being traded as a possible successor to Hütter. Virkus: “It would be negligent if you hadn’t already thought about it. Coach scouting always has to take place, regardless of the situation. We were in a precarious situation, so you always worry. But I won’t discuss names here .”
Virkus emphasized: “Borussia is a team that plays football. Not just possession of the ball, but also the attribute attractiveness. You throw all of that into the balance. We want to find a good coach based on that.”
