BVB and national team without Emre Can

Borussia Dortmund and the German national team have to do without Emre Can for the time being.

“He will be out with a small muscle injury that will drag on until after the international break,” said BVB coach Marco Rose on Friday before the Bundesliga game against 1. FC Köln (Saturday, 3:30 p.m. in the LIVETICKER).

The national team will play against Liechtenstein (November 10th) and Armenia (November 14th) in the World Cup qualification. BVB expects Ajax Amsterdam to take revenge for the 4-0 defeat in the Champions League on Wednesday and will travel to RB Leipzig in the league (November 6).

Midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud (inner ligament stretch) will still be missing, at least against Cologne. “He’s not an option, we couldn’t do that,” said Rose. On the other hand, strikers Youssoufa Moukoko and Donyell Malen are coming back, “whom we will try”. One of them will probably try to replace the injured Erling Haaland. Whether Gregor Kobel can be back in goal will be decided in the final training.

Rose doesn’t want to play too much ping-pong against his “friend” Steffen Baumgart “, that’s up to the people of Cologne”. The FC act “very brave, they play what the coach exemplifies”.
