Borussia Dortmund has apparently made intensive efforts to transfer Bayern youngster Paul Wanner. The people of Munich put a stop to the BVB project relatively quickly and rejected a change. That reports the sports picture.
Instead, the youngster extended his contract with the German record champions early. According to various media reports, the new working paper at Bayern will run until at least 2024.
“Paul is a special talent that we want to encourage. Me and my coaching team will try to live up to the demands he makes on us,” said Julian Nagelsmann about Wanner’s contract extension. The FCB coach thinks highly of the 16-year-old youth player.
When the second half of the season started in mid-January, Wanner benefited from the many injuries in the Bayern squad and celebrated his professional debut against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Since then he has been training regularly with the first team.
There were also three more appearances in the Bundesliga. The native Austrian was last on the pitch against Greuther Fürth at the end of February.
