BVB apparently interested in Maxence Caqueret from Olympique Lyon

BVB is currently looking for reinforcements for the midfield. An option should also come from Lyon.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly looking to Ligue 1 as well, in a bid to fill the gap in midfield created by Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid. How Foot Mercato reported, BVB has Maxence Caqueret from Olympique Lyon on the list as a possible option.

The 23-year-old Frenchman should therefore currently be more of an alternative. Ajax’s Edson Álvarez and Lecce’s Morten Hjulmand are arguably the prime candidates in Dortmund’s search for a Bellingham replacement.

Caqueret would probably also have to pay a very high transfer fee. The French U21 international has a long-term contract with Lyon until 2027.

Caqueret was an absolute top performer at Lyon last season. He has four goals and seven assists in 36 Ligue 1 appearances.

The midfielder is a homegrown, came to OL at the age of eleven. At the beginning of 2019, Caqueret made his debut for the Lyon first team at the age of 18.
