BVB are reportedly interested in RC Lens' Lois Openda

Borussia Dortmund is apparently interested in striker Lois Openda from French first division club RC Lens. This is reported by the Belgian sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

According to this, BVB scouts have had their eye on the Belgian national player since the 2020/21 season, when Openda was loaned from FC Brugge to Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie.

In addition, a change for the 23-year-old is possible next summer, Tavolieri continued. Openda switched from Bruges to Lens last summer for almost ten million euros and is still under contract with the French until 2027.

In addition to Dortmund, according to Tavolieri, AC Milan are also particularly interested in Openda. However, Lens’ transfer fee of around €30m could pose a problem for the Italians should they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

After two good years at Vitesse, Openda has also proven its qualities in the current Ligue 1 season.

In 40 competitive appearances so far, he has scored 19 goals for the surprise second in the table, plus three assists. Shortly before moving to Lens, Openda made his senior debut for Belgium in June 2022, for which he has made eight appearances to date (two goals).
