BVB: Borussia Dortmund almost without personnel worries

In contrast to Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund has almost no personnel problems before the Bundesliga season finale. “It’s looking pretty good, we trained with 26 lads at times,” reported coach Edin Terzic on Friday before the home game against VfL Wolfsburg (Sunday, 5:30 p.m.).

The only “question marks” at the moment are Raphael Guerreiro (hit on the calf) and Nico Schlotterbeck, who recently only completed parts of the training session. “We still have to wait and see for the two,” said Terzic.

In the tight title race, only wins count for BVB. “It’s about keeping up the pressure,” emphasized Terzic, “we don’t have it completely in our own hands anymore, but we can increase the probability by ending the last four games with a win. We have to focus completely on ourselves judge.” FC Bayern is one point up in the table.

Terzic also commented on the rumors from Spain about a move from Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid: “Sometimes the news comes from France, sometimes from England, now from Spain. We’ve had a lot of experience with that in recent years. Jude comes every day come here and wants to be German champion. I haven’t heard from him once that he’s involved with another club. We’re dealing with how we can make him better and how he can make us better as a team. That’s the only thing issue I have with him.”

Terzic has also joined the ranks of supporters of a “challenge” solution for video evidence in football. “I am in favor of trying everything to make the sport we love so much fairer,” he said. “If that’s what helps us, it’s definitely something to think about. We coaches would like that.”

The topic got new impetus last week from BVB’s game at relegation candidate VfL Bochum (1-1). Referee Sascha Stegemann misjudged a clear foul by Danilo Soares on BVB international Karim Adeyemi in the penalty area, as he later admitted. The video assistant did not correct him or ask him to watch the scene again.

If there had been a coaching challenge in that game, Terzic said with a wink, “I would have definitely made use of it”.
