BVB fears Jude Bellingham against Augsburg: "A big question mark"

In the final sprint for the German championship, Borussia Dortmund is worried about the use of exceptional player Jude Bellingham. “We have a big question mark there, we just have to wait and see,” said BVB coach Edin Terzic with a view to the game at FC Augsburg on Sunday (5:30 p.m.).

The Englishman has been suffering from knee pain since the last appearance against Borussia Mönchengladbach (5:2).

“Jude hasn’t been able to train with us since the game,” said Terzic on Friday afternoon. Before the game in Augsburg, he would like to see Bellingham at least once in team training: “It will be difficult without team training. It’s no use sending him out onto the field and after four minutes he says it can’t be done.”

Dortmund is in a long-distance duel with Bayern Munich before the last two matchdays of the Bundesliga, the record champions are one point ahead at the top of the table. BVB therefore needs two wins from the games in Augsburg and against FSV Mainz 05 (May 27) – but have not won on a foreign pitch since the end of February.

“I have a problem attributing weaknesses away from home,” said Terzic nevertheless: “There were always different reasons in the games. But we know that we need six points for our big goal, and a win in Augsburg is part of it. We will prepare very carefully.”

Terzic expects a “very, very unpleasant opponent” in Augsburg, who usually convinces against bigger teams in his own stadium: “These are the games that suit them very well.”

But in Dortmund you enjoy the final sprint. “We haven’t had a situation like this for a long time before matchday 33. I’m happy to drive through Dortmund and see the boys and girls in BVB shirts, the flags in the front yards. We wanted people to get together again We’re looking forward to it. We’ve achieved this partial goal, and now we want to tackle the big goal.”
