BVB hopes for Erling Haaland to play against RB Leipzig: "There is a chance"

In the top game of the Bundesliga against RB Leipzig on Saturday (6.30 p.m.), Borussia Dortmund may be able to rely on their ailing striker Erling Haaland.

“I’m fine, my ankle still hurts a bit. But it’s getting better. We’ll have to wait and see how I feel,” said the Norwegian BVB TV: “I hope I can play – and I think there is a chance.”

Haaland was substituted at halftime in the international match against Armenia during the week. After numerous fouls against him, according to Norway assistant coach Kent Bergersen, he had “blood on his ankles”.

BVB trainer Marco Rose described Haaland’s appearance on Thursday as “very questionable, to be honest”. The Norwegian was “completely sprained, the foot is swollen, thick and blue.”

Haaland has scored 16 goals in 17 Bundesliga games this season. He only celebrated his comeback in mid-March after suffering a muscle injury against TSG Hoffenheim at the end of January.
