BVB, News: Ex-loan player Reinier sees the red card while warming up
Things are still not going well for Reinier after his unsuccessful loan to BVB. On Saturday, the super talent in the service of FC Girona received a red card – even though he wasn’t even on the pitch. Reinier came on as a substitute in the 2-1 win against Espanyol and warmed up on the touchline. When a team-mate was fouled in the 71st minute, the Brazilian got upset.
Loud Mundo Deportivo he described the assistant referee as “very, very bad”. Referee Miguel Ángel Ortiz Arias then showed Reinier the red card. The 21-year-old played on loan at BVB from 2020 to 2022, but did not develop as desired there. After his return to Real Madrid, the attacking midfielder went straight to Girona on loan. He’s not a regular there either.
BVB, News: Sebastian Kehl on Kobel blackout: “There are not many words”
Gregor Kobel was the loser of the evening. After 13 minutes he hit a long ball from Bayern’s Dayot Upamecano, which rolled into his goal – and at 0: 3 he dropped a Sané shot at the feet of Thomas Müller, who was ready to score. “There aren’t many words. There’s a slap, then you look into each other’s eyes and then you know what’s going on. Gregor knows that himself,” said BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl sky sober.
Like coach Edin Terzic, however, he also tried directly to rebuild the Swiss keeper: “But without him we wouldn’t be where we are this season. Things like that happen. He’ll be annoyed about it the most. We’ll put him in the still need it in the coming weeks and he will then make up for it.”
Terzic had previously said about Kobel: “He’s the reason why we were leaders. It’s important to me that we classify the whole thing correctly.”
BVB, News: Update on Nico Schlotterbeck’s injury
After 42 minutes, with the score at 0:3, BVB central defender Nico Schlotterbeck had to be replaced injured. As in the 2-0 victory of the German national team against Peru a week ago, it was the left thigh that caused problems for the 23-year-old.
Sports director Sebastian Kehl confirmed that the severity of the injury will be investigated on Sunday. It was “incredibly bitter” for the central defender that this injury had broken out again, he said sky“But Nico can’t be substituted after 42 minutes if nothing happened.”
He found words of praise for his experienced replacement: “But then Mats Hummels came in and did it very, very well.”
BVB, News: No discussion between ex-coach Thomas Tuchel and Aki Watzke
When Thomas Tuchel left BVB six years ago and after two seasons, there was a need for clarification. There were even reports that there was a kind of middleman to settle the dispute between Tuchel and Hans-Joachim Watzke.
After the 4-2 victory in the classic with FCB over BVB, Tuchel confirmed sky: “Yes, there definitely was. The arbitration was simply pronounced, it had already been mentally completed for a long time. For me and obviously also for Aki.”
Even today, the two are still looking for a suitable appointment, as the 49-year-old said: “Now we were looking for an appointment, but I had too many free time commitments and no time. Now something has come up again. But that’s the way it is.” Watzke did not travel to Munich because of an infection.
