BVB, News: Marco Reus apparently missed the World Cup

Bitter setback for Marco Reus. The offensive star of Borussia Dortmund apparently has to cancel his participation in the World Cup due to persistent ankle problems. That reports sky.

Reus missed a World Cup finals for the second time since 2014 due to injury. Back then, he tore a ligament in his ankle in the last friendly before leaving for Brazil.

The attacking midfielder has been struggling with an ankle injury since the district derby against Schalke in mid-September. He then made two comeback attempts against Union Berlin and VfL Bochum, but then complained of ankle pain.

In the current Bundesliga season, Marco Reus has two goals and two assists in nine games. He has made 48 appearances for Germany since his debut in October 2011 and has contributed 15 goals. He was last on the pitch for Germany in November 2021.

BVB, News: Hansi Flick probably nominates Youssoufa Moukoko and Karim Adeyemi

While Marco Reus national coach Hansi Flick is not available, two Dortmund offensive colleagues are said to be there for the German national team at the tournament in Qatar.

The only 17-year-old Moukoko has not yet played an international match for the German national team. He scored six times in five appearances for the U21s.
