BVB star Jude Bellingham voted player of the season

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has been voted “Bundesliga Player of the Season 2022/23”. The 19-year-old received the most votes in the “Team of the Season” election.

A panel of fans, clubs and experts voted.

Bellingham, who is likely to leave Borussia for Real Madrid in the summer, recorded 8 goals and 4 assists in 31 appearances in the season that ended on Saturday. In addition, he fought the fourth most duels of all players (849) and won the most of all (482 duels won, 57 percent duels rate).

On Matchday 14, at 19 years and 80 days, he was the youngest player ever to make 75 appearances in the German top flight.

“I can’t believe it. Thank you everyone, it’s a great pleasure for me. This type of award is always given to the player who scores the most goals and provides the most assists,” Bellingham explained on the club’s website: “I’m really happy that the fans voted and they obviously enjoyed watching me play. It’s probably one of the awards I’m most proud of since I’ve been at this club.”

After three years in Dortmund, there are now signs of a move to Spain: A fee of 100 million euros plus bonuses is under discussion. Bellingham is said to have already said goodbye to club employees on Sunday and distributed gifts.
