BVB striker Steffen Tigges complains about the situation: "Not easy"

Steffen Tigges has commented on his current situation at Borussia Dortmund. The striker is currently commuting between the pros and the second team at BVB.

“It’s not always easy for me if I don’t know where I’m playing before the weekend,” said Tigges after the game with BVB II in the 3rd division, adding: “But ultimately I don’t care.”

Tigges, who has played 13 times in the Bundesliga for Borussia and has scored two goals this Bundesliga season, scored the opening goal in the 1-1 draw against SC Freiburg’s reserves. It was only the fourth appearance this season and the first since August for the 23-year-old in the third division.

“Steffen was back after a long time and should get match practice. He worked himself up as usual, I’m happy for him that he scored,” said BVB II coach Enrico Maaßen to the Ruhr news.

Tigges has “developed further in all areas” with the professionals, Maassen added: “He trains regularly at the highest level and gets his playing times.”

Tigges’ working paper in Dortmund runs until the summer of 2024. In the recent past he has been associated with other professional clubs several times. Recently there have been rumors of interest from VfL Bochum and 1. FC Köln.
