"Can't just go on like this!" Alexander Wehrle announces analysis

CEO Alexander Wehrle from VfB Stuttgart is not in a celebratory mood even after the successful relegation. “It wasn’t a successful season if you saved yourself through relegation. But in the end we reached our goal,” said the 48-year-old sky: “We’re going to go into an analysis and we can’t just go on like this.”

After 15th place in the previous year, the Swabians only secured their place in the football upper house this year in detention against Hamburger SV.

“Two years in a row staying up on the last day of the game or relegation, you can’t go back to business as usual,” said Wehrle, who “of course has overall responsibility”.

“That’s why I say that we have to change a few things in order to achieve long-term success for VfB again,” said the CEO.

Wehrle sees “not staying up in the league” as precisely that success, one should “be an established Bundesliga club and not mentally commute between the first and second divisions”.
