Crazy long-running series by Christian Günter tears

For “perennial favorite” Christian Günter (29) from SC Freiburg, an impressive series breaks on the coming match day of the Bundesliga.

The left-back was in the starting XI in 134 consecutive league games, but the national player got his fifth yellow card in the game at VfL Bochum (2-0) and will face Bayer Leverkusen next Sunday (3:30 p.m.) for the first time since 2019 Miss Bundesliga game.

On February 23, 2019, Günter did not play from the start due to a yellow-red suspension against FC Augsburg (5-1). Due to the yellow card suspension for the Freiburg captain, the longest running series of starting eleven appearances in a row by a Bundesliga professional ends next weekend.
