Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt and Japanese international Daichi Kamada are going their separate ways in the summer after six years. The 26-year-old will not extend his expiring contract. The Hessians announced this on Wednesday.
The Hessians announced this on Wednesday. Kamada has completed 170 competitive games (37 goals) for the Europa League winners. It is not yet known which club he will join.
It was recently reported that both Borussia Dortmund and the Spanish top clubs FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid would show interest. The latter is said to have the best chance of a commitment.
“We would have liked to have seen Daichi at Eintracht in the future, but the player’s interests did not go hand in hand. We thank him for his commitment to Eintracht and wish him all the best for the future,” said sporting director Markus Krösche.
