Thomas Tuchel raved about new signing Kim Min-jae at a press conference after FC Bayern’s arrival in Tokyo.
“His development in his career speaks for itself. Step by step he managed to take his game to a new level with every change,” said the FCB coach about the South Korean.
The central defender is “a good replacement for Lucas Hernández. We only allowed Hernández to leave because we were able to get a replacement at the highest level in Kim”.
Kim first moved from South Korea to China before the 26-year-old landed in Europe for the first time with Fenerbahce in 2021. He came to Munich via SSC Naples, where Kim signed a contract until 2028.
“We are very happy that Kim has chosen us. Hopefully he can continue to improve here. But he is already very complete,” said Tuchel, who explained that the new signing on Wednesday in the friendly against Manchester City (12.30 p.m LIVE TICKER) will not be used yet.
