BVB, rumour: solution sought for Manuel Akanji and Nico Schulz

The search for a buyer for the BVB defenders Manuel Akanji and Nico Schulz continues to be difficult.

Again table football reports, Borussia Dortmund hopes that there will be movement in the market by the time the transfer window closes next Thursday. So far, however, no offers have been received for the duo, which no longer plays a role in the black and yellow plans.

Both Akanji and Schulz are currently training regularly with the team, but both were not even in the Dortmund squad this season. The Swiss Akanji, whose contract expires next summer, has recently been repeatedly linked with Inter Milan.

Schulz’s contract runs until 2024. At the beginning of August, a report caused a stir that public prosecutors were investigating Schulz’s allegations of domestic violence.

BVB, News: Mats Hummels is hoping for big names in the Champions League

Mats Hummels would have nothing against a special challenge for Borussia Dortmund with a view to the draw for the group stage in the Champions League.

“I’m hoping for a difficult group, that’s why we’re playing in the Champions League,” said the central defender in Frankfurt before the draw on Thursday (6 p.m.): “As far as I’m concerned, the most difficult opponent can come from every pot. Those are great lots and great games.”

BVB is in pot 3, big names such as defending champions Real Madrid or the English champions Manchester City and Liverpool FC around ex-BVB coach Jürgen Klopp from the first two pots are therefore very likely as group opponents. Hummels has “no problems at all” with that.

The central defender is still struggling with the bitter 2:3 defeat against Werder Bremen. “We missed the perfect start with nine points in the league and progression in the cup,” said the 33-year-old. But “I think it’s deserved that we’re there with six points after three games”. BVB must now definitely “put on top of the performance”.

BVB, rumor: Dortmund wants to keep Thomas Meunier

Despite the rumors that Manchester United and Barcelona are allegedly interested in right-back Thomas Meunier, BVB has apparently still not received an offer for the Belgian. He reports that table football.

In addition, the Dortmunders are reluctant to give up the 30-year-old, since a replacement would have to be found in the event of a Meunier departure. Recently, there was speculation in the Spanish media that Barça’s Sergiño Dest could switch to Dortmund in exchange for Meunier. Here’s the news.

BVB, News: Dortmund is not a top team for Stefan Effenberg

According to Stefan Effenberg, Borussia Dortmund is not a serious candidate to challenge Bayern Munich for the championship title this season.

“I currently don’t see any competition for Munich in the Bundesliga. Leipzig and Leverkusen are already a huge distance apart, and Dortmund revealed against Bremen that they are not a top team. Otherwise they would not have given up the 2-0 lead in this way, but ripped off over time,” wrote Effenberg in his table football-Column.

“BVB has to count players among its regulars who don’t have the class to compete with FCB,” added Effenberg.

With a view to Bayern, however, the ex-national player praised coach Julian Nagelsmann and attested the record champions a good reaction to the departure of top scorer Robert Lewandowski. Click here for the news about FC Bayern.
