A Dortmund defender is obviously the first choice at FC Barcelona. Sports director Sebastian Kehl spoke about Karim Adeyemi’s injury and a striker who was probably once on the list at BVB has found a new club. News and rumors about the Black and Yellows can be found here.

BVB, rumor: Meunier apparently “first choice” at Barca
Dortmund’s right-back Thomas Meunier apparently continues to attract FC Barcelona’s interest. As the Mundo Deportivo reported that the Belgian is even the “first choice” for the Catalans. Although BVB has not yet received a concrete offer, this could still change.
The desire to sign Meuniers is also related to the fact that Barca are running out of alternatives. Villarreal FC’s Juan Foyth, also hotly traded, picked up a knee injury but the high transfer demands made a deal difficult.
In order to realize an obligation, however, staff must first be handed over. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Memphis Depay and Sergino Dest are named as candidates. The latter was last mentioned as a candidate for a swap to move to Dortmund in exchange for Meunier. Barca’s preferred candidate César Azpilicueta has extended his contract with Chelsea after much speculation. Rumors about players like Vanderson (AS Monaco), Héctor Bellerín (Arsenal FC) or Hamari Traoré (Stade Rennes) did not materialize.
Sports director Sebastian Kehl made it clear about Meunier before the game against Hertha BSC: “It is not our plan to give up Thomas Meunier.”
BVB, News: Kehl gives an update on Adeyemi
Sebastian Kehl has given an update after the injury-related substitution of striker Karim Adeyemi in the game at Hertha BSC. “He gritted his teeth, he really wanted to be there,” said the sporting director Ruhr news.
After Adeyemi started the game with a foot problem, he was substituted after the hour and was treated and bandaged on the substitutes’ bench. “We hope that it will get better bit by bit during the week”, Kehl could not say too much about a possible use next weekend. The match against TSG Hoffenheim is already scheduled for Friday.
Otherwise, Kehl looked back positively on the win against Berlin: “We played better football, created a lot of chances, kept a clean sheet, Modeste scored. The criticism after the Bremen game was received, the team was challenged and did well done and deservedly won.”
BVB, News: Ex-candidate Cavani finds new club
Before Anthony Modeste signed, Edinson Cavani was also considered an option for the position of the sick Sébastien Haller in Dortmund’s storm center. Now the Uruguayan has found a new club. The striker has signed with Valencia CF until 2024.
The veteran has been under contract with Manchester United since 2020, his contract expired in the summer and was not renewed. Previously, he was much more accurate at PSG (200 goals in 301 games) and SSC Napoli (104 goals in 138 games).
