BVB, rumour: Dortmund obviously interested in Frimpong
The BVB defense has only performed poorly in some cases in the last few weeks, so Borussia will be looking for reinforcements in defense in the summer. The free transfer of Niklas Süle from FC Bayern to BVB has already been confirmed, and Dortmund is said to have focused on another defender from a Bundesliga competitor.
Loud El National right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen should be on Dortmund’s wish list. The Dutchman came to the Werkself from Celtic Glasgow in winter 2021 and has impressed with good performances ever since. In the current season, Frimpong has already contributed 10 goals in 31 appearances for the Leverkusen team.
But there is well-known competition for the services of the 21-year-old talent. In addition to Dortmund, FC Bayern and Real Madrid are said to have put out feelers. In the event of a possible departure, Bayer would probably prefer not to sell Frimpong to a direct competitor within the Bundesliga and instead to sell it abroad.
BVB, rumor: Coulibaly against FCA probably in the squad for the first time
The personnel situation at BVB is currently quite tense. In the away game against FC Augsburg, Dortmund coach Marco Rose will have to do without Erling Haaland, Marco Reus, Giovanni Reyna, Thomas Meunier, Manuel Akanji and Dan-Axel Zagadou due to injury.
At least Emre Can and Raphael Guerreiro are eligible to play again against FCA. In addition, defender talent Soumaila Coulibaly should, according to information from Ruhr news are in the Borussia squad for the first time.
The 1.91 meter tall French U18 national player moved from Paris St.-Germain to BVB on a free transfer last summer. After surviving a cruciate ligament rupture, Coulibaly was able to gain match practice in the 3rd division with the second team. He will be on the bench for the first time today.
BVB, Rumour: Advanced talks with Demir
The offensive man had to end his loan at FC Barcelona early in January, and Yusuf Demir could now move to Dortmund in the summer. BVB is apparently in advanced talks with the Rapid Wien attacker. This is reported by the American TV station ESPN and cites sources from Barcelona.
Only last summer did the 18-year-old join Barca on loan, with the Catalans even securing a €10m purchase option. However, Demir failed to make his mark at the Blaugrana and had to end the loan early after six short spells in LaLiga.
At the age of 16, Demir made the leap to the pros at Rapid and has since scored six goals in 33 professional appearances. In March of last year he also made his debut for the Austrian national team. The winger is under contract in Vienna until 2024.
BVB, News: Watzke would like to help Schalke 04
DFB interim president Hans-Joachim Watzke can imagine financial help for Schalke 04 if the second division team should part with its controversial Russian main sponsor Gazprom.
“First of all, I am very happy that Schalke have shown their attitude. I hope that this will continue,” said the chairman of the supervisory board of the German Football League (DFL) to the current sports studio ZDF. Click here for the detailed article with all statements.
