BVB, News: Wolf was afraid of his career

BVB star Marius Wolf spoke openly about his heart surgery last fall. The full-back underwent heart surgery in November 2022, as extensive medical examinations revealed an “infection-related disturbance of the vestibular system”.

Eventually, Wolf was diagnosed with mild atrial fibrillation. “The heart rhythm was not normal. I noticed that clearly. You feel queasy and funny because you don’t know what it is,” said the 27-year-old in the podcast 19:09 – the black and yellow talc.

He himself did not feel comfortable with the thought of having to undergo an operation on his heart. “It was a sleepless night. I lay in bed at home and didn’t know what was going on. I won’t describe the thoughts now, but it certainly wasn’t nice. If a doctor says it’ll be fine, then that’s it one thing. But that still doesn’t take away your fear. It is and will remain an intervention in the heart, “explained Wolf.

The consequences would hardly affect him now. “I would be lying if I said it’s completely gone, but on the pitch you’re so focused you don’t have time to think about anything else.” But when he’s on his own, he still thinks about it. “But then the thought comes: you’ve played football for 90 minutes, it can’t be that bad for you.”

BVB, News: Matthäus sees no sporting use for Reus and Hummels

Mats Hummels and Marco Reus’ contracts at Borussia Dortmund expire next summer. If record national player Lothar Matthäus has his way, BVB would not necessarily have to extend the working papers of the two veterans.

“Both have great merits and are the extension of the coach, but both are also of a certain age,” Matthäus told sky. “Dortmund doesn’t really need them anymore in terms of sport”, but it is “difficult to part with such players”.

If both could make friends with a role as a supplementary player with integration tasks and salary losses, Matthäus still sees a perspective for them at BVB.

BVB, rumor: FC Barcelona probably still keen on Meunier

Thomas Meunier from Borussia Dortmund is still being traded as a possible new signing at FC Barcelona. The Spanish Sports writes that the Belgian defender is a promising candidate for the Catalans – also because the two preferred candidates for the summer are probably out of reach.

According to the report, Benjamin Pavard (26) and Juan Foyth (25) from FC Villarreal are the preferred candidates for the position of right-back. However, both are clearly too expensive for the financially troubled Blaugrana. Pavard is now also tending to extend at Bayern.

Meunier, on the other hand, is loud Sports for an affordable price in summer. He is also believed to be able to play at a high level for two more years.

Here is the detailed report.
