BVB, rumour: Hermann is to become the new assistant coach

On Friday it was announced that BVB is parting ways with head coach Marco Rose. According to information from Ruhr news Edin Terzic, who held the post of coach after Lucien Favre and before Rose, is the favorite to succeed him. According to sky Terzic should be provided with an experienced assistant in Peter Hermann.

70-year-old Hermann has a lot of experience as a coach in the first and second Bundesliga and has managed to get promoted as assistant coach at Schalke 04 this season. As assistant coach to Jupp Heynckes, he won the treble with FC Bayern, among other things and three German championships.

His contract with Dortmund’s archrival runs until June 30, so a transfer fee would not be due. The talks between those responsible at BVB and Hermann are said to be ongoing, but no decision has yet been made.

BVB’s previous substitute goalkeeper, Marwin Hitz, is moving to FC Basel. The 34-year-old has signed a contract until 2025 and is leaving Borussia on a free transfer after four seasons.

Hitz was in goal a total of 181 times in 14 years in the Bundesliga. In addition to Dortmund, the keeper played for FC Augsburg and VfL Wolfsburg – in the future he will play for Basel, where he has better chances of a regular place than at BVB, where Gregor Kobel is seeded.
