Dortmund's Gregor Kobel "definitely fit again"

League leaders Borussia Dortmund can again rely on regular goalkeeper Gregor Kobel in the top game of the Bundesliga against record champions Bayern Munich.

“I’m definitely fit again,” said the 25-year-old Swiss on Wednesday sky-Interview. In the end it was the decision of coach Edin Terzic, “but I’m fit again and available.”

Due to thigh problems, Kobel had missed BVB’s last four competitive games, with substitute keeper Alexander Meyer replacing him. The international matches with the Confederates also came too early. But he is confident about the guest appearance with Munich, where Thomas Tuchel is sitting on the coaching bench for the first time.

The arrival for the showdown on Saturday evening (6.30 p.m. / Sky) is the front runner “with a big chest”, said Kobel: “We deserve it first place rewards.”

The Westphalians won nine out of ten league games in the new year, only shared the points in the Revierderby at Schalke 04 – and pushed past Bayern in the table.

Nevertheless, this is only “a snapshot”, emphasized the keeper and was aware of the task ahead: “It will definitely be a very, very tough fight at the weekend.” A win in Munich would “definitely be a big step towards the championship”.
