Edin Terzic served after a 3-2 defeat against Werder Bremen: "Brutally stupid and annoying"

Despite a 2-0 lead in the meantime, BVB still lost 2-3 (1-0) against Werder Bremen on the 3rd Bundesliga matchday. After the game, Dortmund’s coach Edin Terzic did not spare criticism of his own performance.

“If you’re 2-0 up to the 88th minute, then you have to win that too – even if it wasn’t a good game from us. The way we scored goals was brutally stupid and brutally annoying. Now we’re empty-handed da”, Terzic quarreled after the end of the game sky.

“You have to honestly say that it was a deserved defeat. We didn’t play well. That was a very poor performance from us,” continued the BVB coach. “In the first half we took the lead with the last action, in the second half we wanted to do better. We didn’t manage that. We kept creating many chances and didn’t have any control.”

BVB captain Marco Reus blew a similar horn. Especially in the second half, Dortmund “had no control over the game”. Keeper Gregor Kobel spoke of a “difficult to explain” slump in the final phase. “We couldn’t put the same energy on the pitch as Bremen. In the end we got the reward for it,” said the Swiss.

After the defeat against SV Werder Bremen, BVB remains on six points after three games. Long-term rival Bayern Munich could already pull three points away with a three-pointer against VfL Bochum on Sunday.
