Eric Maxim-Choupo-Moting apparently offered at Fenerbahce

Bayern Munich’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has apparently been offered to Fenerbahce Istanbul. The Italian journalist Rudy Galetti reports, but without going into detail who offered the 33-year-old striker.

Choupo-Moting is under contract with FC Bayern until 2023. After recovering from a groin injury, he celebrated his comeback in the 5-0 victory in the DFB Cup against Viktoria Köln.

In Turkey, the transfer window is open until September 8th. Fenerbahce were recently looking for a new striker. In addition to Choupo-Moting, Mauro Icardi (Paris Saint-Germain) was also considered a candidate before the club announced Michy Batshuayi’s commitment on Friday afternoon.

The former Borussia Dortmund player wanted to switch from Chelsea to Nottingham Forest on Deadline Day, but the transfer fell through at the last moment. Fener announced on Friday that Batshuayi is on his way to the medical check-up. Last season he played on loan in Turkey for Besiktas (42 games, 19 points).

Alongside 17-year-old Mathys Tel, Choupo-Moting is one of only two classic center forwards in the squad at Bayern Munich. Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona) and Joshua Zirkzee (FC Bologna) have left the club.
