FC Bayern, News: Markus Babbel would “rather sell Sane than Gnabry”
Markus Babbel doesn’t believe that Leroy Sane’s knot “will burst yet.” The former Bayern professional would therefore “rather sell Sane this summer than Gnabry”, as he says Sky sports betrayed. It is all the more important that the Munich team “extend Serge Gnabry.” Sane’s performance at Bayern and in the national team was “simply not enough” for Babbel.
The 49-year-old “had great doubts from the start as to whether Sane would work at Bayern”, but was then surprised. “He then did well for a long time. I didn’t expect that from him,” said Babbel: “And now he’s showing his old face again. I wonder what happened there? I don’t understand it.”
Above all, “the listlessness” and “the body language on the pitch” had recently struck him negatively. He himself has no idea why that is. So Babbel asked the question, “Doesn’t he want to understand?” Sane was directly involved in 29 goals in 45 competitive games for FC Bayern this season. Recently there have been rumors that Munich should be interested in Sadio Mane from Liverpool.
Gnabry is said to have received an offer for a contract extension, but the negotiations should stall. If Mane were signed, he could leave the club in return.
FC Bayern, News: Noussair Mazraoui “can do almost everything”
Noussair Mazraoui is Bayern Munich’s first signing of the summer. The 24-year-old now presented himself confidently in Munich. “I’m a right-back who’s a great all-rounder. I can do almost everything,” said the signing of Ajax in the club’s own media: “I’m strong, even if I don’t look really strong. I have the speed on offense and I am technically good. It’s crazy to say something like that about myself, but my offensive skills are very good.”
Mazraoui was not only in great demand at FC Bayern. Among other things, FC Barcelona and league competitor Borussia Dortmund are said to have been interested. “The moment I heard that Bayern wanted me, it felt like your heart jumped a little,” said Mazraoui: “It was a great feeling from the start. I knew immediately that this club was my dream club is.”
The winger also remembered his first Champions League goal, which he scored against FC Bayern of all places. In 2018 he scored in the group stage in Munich to make it 1-1. “It was incredible. I was very young back then. The tension was great, I was very, very nervous playing against players like Ribery and Robben, who you usually play with on the Playstation,” Mazraoui looked back.
The Moroccan moves to the Isar on a free transfer. At Ajax he wore the number 12. In Munich this has not been awarded since 2002 because it was made available to the fans for individual flocking. It is still unclear which number Mazraoui will receive at Bayern.
