Ex-national player Verena Schweers takes aim at Oliver Kahn

Ex-national player Verena Schweers took aim at Bayern boss Oliver Kahn after his comment on the Bayern women’s venue.

What happened? On Tuesday afternoon, the women of FC Bayern Munich announced that they will play a game at the Allianz Arena for the first time ever – and then in the prestigious Women’s Champions League quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain on March 22nd.

Oliver Kahn then commented via Twitter: “We are very happy about this milestone in the more than 50-year history of our Bayern women. Jens Scheuer’s team gets the stage it deserves for the UWCL quarter-finals PSG in our Allianz Arena .” He hopes that “the general conditions will allow for a football festival in which many Bayern fans will support our women in the Allianz Arena.”

Verena Schweers, two-time German champion with the Bayern women, then did not miss a small tip against Kahn. “Another nice statement from an official,” she replied Twitter with a wink: “But I’ve never seen you in the stadium. Let’s go. Packmas on.”

Schweers (nee Faißt) played for the women of FC Bayern Munich from 2016 until the end of her career in 2020. She made a total of 47 appearances for the German national team between 2010 and 2019. Since 2018 she has been the wife of Bayern’s current “Team Leader Business FC Bayern Campus” Christian Schweers.
