FC Bayern? Advisor announces decision for early 2023

Alexander Nübel has been on loan to Ligue 1 club AS Monaco from this season until mid-2023. So is the goalkeeper drawn back to Bayern Munich? Advisor Stefan Backs has to the AZ announced a decision for early next year.

“I assume that he will also play in Monaco next season and that a decision will be made about his future at Bayern in early 2023,” said the player’s agent.

The decisive factor in this clarification will be whether the 25-year-old has a real chance of ousting Manuel Neuer between the posts of the German record champions at the given time.

“Of course it doesn’t make sense for Alex to sit behind Neuer on the bench,” Backs clarified. However, the former goalkeeper of FC Schalke 04 would face the renewed reserve role in the event of a return to the Isar. Neuer (35) is facing another contract extension, the German national keeper should sign until June 30, 2025.

Backs recently conceded SPOX and GOAL on record, Nübel would look at the situation calmly. “He’s at such a level that he really doesn’t have to worry about his future. If Bayern Munich decide otherwise, for whatever reason, then he’ll just have to go a different way. I’m in contact with Bayern almost every day Munich, I know what is done there and how people think there, so I’m pretty relaxed,” said Backs.

Tottenham interested in Nübel?

According to information from SPOX and GOAL, Tottenham Hotspur recently expressed interest in the number one of the Monegasques, who are now coached by Philippe Clement after the dismissal of Niko Kovac.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte is looking for a younger goalkeeper to rival Hugo Lloris, despite the 35-year-old only recently renewing his contract.

It is unlikely, however, that Nübel, as his representative, would find himself in a similarly unsatisfactory situation as at Bayern, when he was only used in four competitive games despite promises to the contrary.
