The German record champions Bayern Munich have to do without Niklas Süle and Lucas Hernandez in the Bundesliga derby against FC Augsburg (3.30 p.m.). Süle has a slight fever, Hernandez is out because of a thigh contusion.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann had actually announced at the press conference on Friday that both Leon Goretzka and Niklas Süle should be able to play from the start against Augsburg (3.30 p.m. in LIVETICKER) on Saturday in order to gain match practice for the important second leg in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Villarreal ( First leg: 0:1) to collect. But now the Bayern coach has to reschedule.
As in the previous week, Goretzka will play from the start in the 4-1 win in Freiburg, but Süle has to pass. As FC Bayern announced, the German national player is missing due to a slight fever. In addition, his regular partner in defense of the record champions, Lucas Hernandez, missed the duel against the Swabians. The Frenchman is ruled out with a thigh contusion.
However, Nagelsmann expects both to be available again in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Villarreal on Tuesday. At Hernandez “it will be enough,” he said skywith Süle “as of now” too, “but you never know. It can sometimes take a day longer”.
Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies, who only celebrated his comeback in Villarreal on Wednesday after a month-long break due to heart problems, is not in the starting XI as planned. However, he is sitting on the bench. Kingsley Coman also gets a break, Leroy Sane starts for him.
Nagelsmann had already announced that he would rotate a little against Augsburg.
