According to this, Bayern’s chief scout, the ex-Bundesliga professional Pirmin Schwegler, is said to have observed Rieder several times on site. The 20-year-old Swiss is already one of the most important players at the current league leaders in Bern and has two goals and three assists this season.
Rieder himself could not yet imagine a move to Munich: “Basically, this is speculation, but I think Bayern Munich is a league too high for me, or two leagues,” he said View.
The Swiss U21 national player is under contract with the Young Boys until 2025, and in addition to Bayern, Olympique Lyon and Real Madrid are also said to be interested. Rieder continued: “You always have to see what the right step is. Bayern is one of the best teams in the world. Whether I would have a chance there in the next two or three years remains to be seen. I go from day to day and see how it goes.”
