FC Bayern lends Jamie Lawrence to 1. FC Magdeburg

Bayern Munich is parting with a defensive talent, at least on loan: Jamie Lawrence will be able to prove himself in Magdeburg in the next few years.

FC Bayern Munich has loaned defender Jamie Lawrence to 1. FC Magdeburg. Both clubs announced this on Wednesday afternoon.

The central defender had initially extended his contract with the German record champions until 2026 and will join the second division promoted team for the next two seasons.

“Jamie has made a promising development with us and recently even led our U23s on the field as captain. We are convinced of his potential and that he has found the right club for the next few years in 1. FC Magdeburg,” said Bavaria’s campus manager Jochen Sauer.

“For us it was important to find a tall defender who is strong in the air and who can also defend high. Those are the attributes that we see in Jamie,” added Magdeburg coach Christian Titz.
